What we actually clean

Every clean covers your full forced-air system. Here is what each component looks like.

Furnace cleaning in Calgary

We clean the furnace cabinet, the heat exchanger, and the AC coil area in a single visit. The blower motor comes out and gets cleaned blade by blade — most quotes leave it in, but dust on the blades reduces airflow by up to 25% and makes the motor work harder for less heat.

On high-efficiency units we check the condensate drain and inspect the secondary heat exchanger. We replace your furnace filter while we are there. No HE surcharge, no AC surcharge.

Duct cleaning in Calgary

Every supply vent. Every return vent. Every main trunk line, supply side and return side. Flat-rate pricing — no per-vent counting and no charge for larger homes beyond the home-type tier.

The Standard uses an air gun on every supply vent and a back skipper through the trunks. The Deep Clean adds an octopus whip agitator in the trunks for stubborn buildup. The HyperVac H2 stays connected throughout, pulling debris out of your home and into the truck.

Dryer vent cleaning

Lint buildup in dryer vents is a leading cause of house fires in Canada. We clean the full vent run from the dryer to the exterior exhaust with compressed air and the truck-mounted vacuum, not brushes, then verify airflow.

Main floor dryer vent cleaning is included in The Deep Clean. With The Standard, it is a $69.95 add-on for main floor, $149.95 for second floor, or $199.99 for rooftop. If your Deep Clean home has a second-floor or rooftop vent, the upgrade is $59.95 or $99.95 respectively.

HRV / ERV cleaning

If your home has a heat recovery ventilator (HRV) or energy recovery ventilator (ERV), the core and filters accumulate dust and need periodic cleaning to maintain airflow and indoor air quality. We clean the unit, replace filters where applicable, and verify operation.

HRV cleaning is included in The Deep Clean. With The Standard, it is a $59.95 add-on.

Our Equipment

HyperVac H2 — 35 HP truck-mount, not a shop vac

The HyperVac H2 lives in the Ford Transit. We run one hose from the truck to the main supply duct in your basement, and it pulls every vent in the house at once. Debris comes up the ducts, down the hose, into the truck. Nothing gets staged in your living room.

Most portable cleaners run 3-5 HP. Ours is a 35 HP direct-drive — the same class of rig used in hospitals, hotels, and commercial buildings. Look up the H2. That's the gap between actually pulling debris out and a $99 job that just moves it around.

What a visit looks like

Five steps, every time. Most visits run two to three hours.

  1. Arrival and walkthrough

Our technician arrives in a clean, branded Ford Transit, introduces themselves, and walks the system with you. They confirm what is included and flag anything they spot up front.

  2. Home protection setup

Floor coverings down. Corner guards on. Booties on. Before any tool comes out, your home is protected.

  3. Furnace and component cleaning

Blower motor out, cleaned, reinstalled. Furnace cabinet and heat exchanger cleaned. Filter replaced. AC coil area addressed if your system has one.

  4. Duct cleaning under negative pressure

The HyperVac H2 connects to your trunk line. Every supply and return vent gets the air-gun pass — and on Deep Clean, an octopus whip agitates the trunks for stubborn buildup.

  5. Walkthrough and cleanup

We show you what came out of your system, answer any questions, and clean up. Your home looks the same as when we arrived — just with cleaner air.

Common questions

How much does duct cleaning cost in Calgary?
The Vent Men uses flat-rate pricing based on home type. The Standard is $349 for a townhome or duplex, $399 for a detached home, and $549 for a home with two or more furnaces. The Deep Clean is $479, $549, and $699 for the same tiers. No per-vent fees, no HE surcharge, no fuel surcharge.
What is the difference between The Standard and The Deep Clean?
The Standard covers your full system — every vent, every trunk, the blower motor, and a fresh filter — using our HyperVac H2 with an air gun on every vent and a back skipper through the trunks. The Deep Clean adds octopus whip agitation in the trunks, HRV cleaning, Benefect sanitization, and main floor dryer vent cleaning. If you have an HRV or it has been more than two years since your last clean, The Deep Clean is the better fit.
How often should I get my furnace and ducts cleaned?
Most Calgary homes should clean every one to two years. Homes with pets, smokers, allergy sufferers, or recent renovations should clean annually. New construction should be cleaned before first occupancy to remove drywall dust and construction debris.
What is the difference between a $99 special and a real cleaning?
The equipment. A $99 special typically uses a portable shop-vac that does not generate the suction needed to actually remove debris from your full system, then upsells you once the technician is in your home. A real cleaning uses commercial-grade truck-mounted equipment, cleans every vent in the system, and the price you booked is the price you pay.
How long does a cleaning take?
Most homes take two to three hours. Larger homes, dual-furnace homes, or systems with heavy buildup can take longer. We give you an estimated window when you book and the technician confirms it on arrival.
Do you charge extra for high-efficiency furnaces, AC, or large homes?
No. No HE surcharge. No AC surcharge. No per-vent fees. The price is set by your home type — townhome, detached, or two-or-more furnace — and that is the price you pay.
What is included in the home protection?
Floor coverings along every path our technician walks, corner guards on walls and doorframes, and booties inside your home. The HyperVac H2 stays truck-mounted in the Transit and connects through a single hose. We know duct cleaning is invasive — we minimize the impact on your space.
Is duct cleaning worth it, or is it a scam?
Duct cleaning from a reputable company with proper equipment is absolutely worth it, especially for homes with pets, allergies, new construction, or systems that have not been cleaned in years. The scams come from operators using inadequate equipment who do not clean the full system. The difference is in the equipment — a truck-mounted commercial vacuum versus a portable shop-vac.
