Common questions about furnace and duct cleaning, how we work, and what to expect.
Common questions
What's the difference between The Standard and The Deep Clean?
The Standard covers your furnace and all supply and return ducts - the cleaning your system needs on a regular maintenance cycle. The Deep Clean adds HRV cleaning (the unit that exchanges stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air), antimicrobial sanitizer treatment applied through the duct system, and dryer vent cleaning. If you have pets, allergies, a new baby, or a recent renovation that pushed drywall dust through your system, The Deep Clean is the right tier.
How is your pricing different from other Calgary duct cleaners?
Most companies quote a base price - $89 to $149 is common - and then count your supply and return vents once the tech is inside. The invoice grows from there. We charge a flat rate by home type. One price, based on whether your home is a townhome/duplex, a detached home, or a dual-furnace home. You see that number before anything is booked, and it's what's on your invoice when we leave.
What does "truck-mounted" mean and why does it matter?
Most duct cleaners bring a portable vacuum unit inside your home. Truck-mounted means our HyperVac H2 system runs from the Transit parked outside - the engine, compressor, and hose reel stay in the truck. The cleaning hose runs in through a door or window. Truck-mounted systems generate more suction than portable units, and it keeps the heavy equipment out of your living space.
How long does the job take?
A standard detached home typically takes two to three hours. Townhomes and duplexes run a bit shorter. Dual-furnace homes and Deep Clean bookings take longer. We'll give you an estimated window when you book, and the tech will confirm timing when he walks you through the job at the start.
Do I need to be home the whole time?
You need to be home when the tech arrives - that's when he walks you through the scope and gets access to the furnace room. Most homeowners stay, but once the walkthrough is done the tech can work through the house independently. He'll come find you when it's time to show you the finished work.
Are you insured? What if something gets damaged?
Yes. $2M commercial general liability insurance through Wawanesa, WCB registered since March 2026, Calgary business licence. If something is damaged during a job, we deal with it directly - no runaround. Call or text: 587-971-8368.
What if I have more questions before I book?
Call or text - 587-971-8368. We'll answer. No hold music, no "your call is important to us."
More questions
How should I prepare my home before the tech arrives?
Clear a path from your main door to the furnace room and make sure the tech has access to every floor register. If you have pets, put them in a closed room - duct cleaning involves hoses running through hallways and equipment noise. That's it. Don't clean vents before we arrive - we're going to clean them.
What happens after the cleaning is done?
The tech walks you through what was cleaned, shows you the equipment, answers questions on the spot, and cleans up. Your invoice matches the price you were given before we arrived - that's the whole point of flat-rate pricing. You pay, we leave, your home is the same as when we arrived except the air is cleaner.
How often should I get my furnace and ducts cleaned?
Most Calgary homes benefit from a cleaning every 1-2 years. Annual for homes with pets, heavy allergies, smokers, or anyone who recently did renovation work. New construction homes should be cleaned before first occupancy - drywall dust and construction debris sit in the ducts otherwise and get blown through the house every time the furnace runs.
Do you work around pets and small children?
Yes, routinely. We ask you to put pets in a closed room because duct cleaning is loud and involves hoses in hallways - not because we don't like animals, but because a cat or dog can slip out while we're moving equipment. Small children usually want to watch; that's fine as long as they stay out of the work area. Just tell the tech when they arrive.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We typically book within the same week, often within 2-3 days. Peak season (fall, before winter) can push that to a week or two. If you need us sooner, call or text - 587-971-8368 - and we'll tell you what's possible.
What if I notice an issue after the cleaning?
Call us - 587-971-8368. If something came loose, got damaged, or wasn't cleaned properly, we come back and make it right. Our insurance covers any property damage we cause, and our reputation in Calgary depends on not cutting corners. We don't run from mistakes.
Do you offer maintenance plans or follow-up service?
Not yet. We focus on single-service bookings with flat-rate pricing - you get a clean, you pay the price you were quoted, you're done. If you want to book us again in a year, great. But we don't lock customers into subscription plans or pitch maintenance packages on-site.
Can you clean ducts in older homes built before 1980?
Yes. Older homes sometimes have unusual duct layouts, asbestos insulation around heat exchangers, or mechanical dampers that need a softer touch. The tech will identify anything unusual during the assessment and explain what we're working with. We've cleaned Calgary homes from 1950s bungalows to 2024 new builds.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, e-transfer (Interac), or credit card at the time of service. We don't require deposits for residential bookings.
Do you provide receipts for insurance or warranty claims?
Yes. Every job comes with a written invoice that lists what was done, the flat-rate price paid, and our business information. If your home insurance or home warranty requires proof of HVAC maintenance, we provide whatever documentation you need.
